MEET CHILLIWACK GYMNASTICS AND DANCE CORPORATION
We believe that learning to dance and do gynmastics should be a balance of serious technique and just-for-fun exploration.
You may know us as our individual trade names "Chilliwack Gymnastics Club" and "Chilliwack Dance School". These two separate businesses were incorporated under one name in late 2020.
OUR FACILITY
A Gymnastics Center and Dance Studio, all in one building
Our recently renovated facility has a dance studio and birthday party room, and a gymnastics center with a sprung floor, bars, beams, tumble tracks, vault, slide, swinging rings, trampoline, foam pit, Tarzan rope, climbing wall and a maze.
Big, bright and open floor space lets kids and adults alike feel free and creative and ready to explore.
We offer a variety of programs for all ages and abilities, instructed by our experienced and dedicated dance, gymnastics and physical education professionals.

OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1996 by Grant and Lily Ocean, two elite gymnasts, the gymnastics club became a community staple for families in the Chilliwack area and eventually added an upstairs dance studio and a birthday party room.
Then in 2017, Donna Jordan, a longtime patron of the club, acquired Chilliwack Gymnastics Club and Chilliwack Dance School and took over management. The two businesses were incorporated under one name in late 2020.

DONNA JORDAN
Owner of Chilliwack Gymnastics and Dance
Donna is a seasoned gymnast with over a decade of gymnastics training and competing experience including varsity-level gymnastics at UBC. She is a long-time patron of the arts including dance! As the owner of Chilliwack Gymnastics and Dance, Donna is passionate about making gymnastics both fun and educational, and making dance accessible and fun to everyone regardless of previous experience or skill level!
GRANT OCEAN
Head Coach and Chilliwack Gymnastics Club Founder
As the founder of Chilliwack Gymnastics Club, Grant is a long-time community staple and expert gymnastics coach with decades of experience. Grant is passionate about seeing kids succeed in gymnastics, have fun and explore fitness in a no-pressure, supportive environment.
Grant has a Ph.D in Physical Education from the University of Alberta.
KENNEDY JANSEN
Office Manager and Gymnastics Coach
Kennedy has been a part of Chilliwack Gymnastics Club since she was a young girl, attending classes and summer camps all her life, and becoming a coach in her teens. She is now also our primary office administrator.
BAILEY TEDFORD
Gymnastics Coach
Bailey attended classes at Chilliwack Gymnastics Club and has been a coach since her teens. She has become a favorite coach of advanced and elite gymnasts as well as beginners.
We have a number of other gymnastics coaches on staff. Come on in and meet them!
DANCE TEACHERS
KARRY KOZAK-FEDORUK
Principal Dance Instructor
Karry was owner of Images Dance Studio in Chilliwack for 22 years, until 2013. She has had studio dancers voted “student of the year” at national and international competitions, where she herself was named “teacher of the year”. Her success continues at Chilliwack Dance School, winning choreography awards and bringing home top scores from local competitions.
Karry has a strong background in Kinesiology, Dance History and Dance Psychology. Her training has been both national, with the Royal Academy of Dance at the University of Waterloo and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and International with Dupree Dance in Vancouver and Arizona and the Cecchetti Ballet Society of Valencia, California.
BOBBI KOZAK
Bobbi was an avid competitive dancer since her youth, and helped her sister out when she opened Images Dance Studio in Chilliwack. By attending various dance trainer workshops, she learned the fundamentals of teaching dance. Bobbi enjoyed teaching Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop and Kinderdance at Images for over 15 years. Bobbi also taught salsa and other styles at other studios, and joined Chilliwack Dance School in 2020.
Bobbi’s teaching experience began in the pool teaching swimming lessons 30 years ago. She also coached the Agassiz Aquanauts swim team for years.
MALANA MURRAY
Malana Murray started dancing at the age of 2 and has been involved in the dance community for over thirty-five years. She has been a competitive dancer, teacher, Director and a dance mom to four children. Malana grew up in her Mom's dance studio studying Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, HipHop, Musical Theatre, Tap, Irish, and Polynesian, and was a Premiere Highland dancer with Scot Dance BC. She competed in three Dance World Cup championships internationally, appeared on Breakfast TV, and performed for numerous community events. She has many RAD ballet exams and UKA dance exam certificates and medals. Malana began her teaching career in her Mothers studio where she received teacher training and worked as an assistant teacher. Moving to Alberta and then Saskatchewan, she started studios of her own in both locations before returning to Richmond in 2008 to resume dancing and teaching with her mom. Malana has taught all levels and ages including working with the RSCL Dancers (special needs adults and children). She has been subbing for Chilliwack Dance School casually for a couple years now, and is very excited to join the team in a larger role and can’t wait to work with all of you talented dancers.
Malana is a Cree/Metís Woman that Is honoured to live, work, and play on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Stó:lō Coast Salish peoples.
ALINA BUCHOK
Alina Buchok learned how to dance in Ukraine starting at age 5. She has a Master of Arts in Choreography from Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, and has 15 years experience as a dance teacher and choreographer. She has a rich performance background, having been part of 20 dance productions with "Black O!Range Dance Theatre" and the creative collective "Buchok Art Family", of which she was co-founder. She reached the Top 16 of "So You Think You Can Dance" (Ukraine) in 2010.
Alina is proficient in various contemporary dance techniques and well-versed in Latin American dances. She is committed to ongoing growth in order to inspire students through her personal example and instill a love for dance and the arts. She continuously enhances skills through participation in dance festivals, intensives, and masterclasses conducted by top educators and dancers from global dance companies. As a teacher, she is known for delivering information effectively and making dance accessible to students of all levels, fostering a stress-free and comfortable learning environment.
Alina has been subbing on a casual basis for Chilliwack Dance School since early 2024. We are thrilled that she has agreed to take on a larger role for us this summer and fall!
